Rundown
KRAK 11 NEWS
Good evening. Six o'clock on KRAK 11 News. I'm Chip Marlowe.
And I'm Deb Sarkissian. A man in west London is charged with murder and eight counts of attempted murder after a house fire that killed one woman and injured eight others.
That leads The World Desk tonight. In Criminal Intent, authorities in Cook County seize one hundred thousand dollars in stolen Wawa coffee and half a million in protein powder — back in December of last year, and it is our one hundred and ninety-second Florida Man Tribute.
Coffee and protein powder.
Six hundred thousand dollars in total. In Animals, a fisherman finds a heron fighting for its life, and that video is now number one on our countdown. And in A Quick Look At Sports, Ontario Premier Doug Ford has a blunt warning for President Trump over Canada tariffs.
The World Desk is next. A man charged with murder after a fire in west London — one woman dead, eight others injured, and investigators are still working the scene.
Stay with us.
THE WORLD DESK
Good evening, Wexler County. This is KRAK 11 News at eighteen hundred hours.
We have developments out of London tonight, an arrest in west London, and Arsenal are about to lose another Brazilian.
How many Brazilians do they have left?
Fewer after this one.
We begin with breaking developments out of London. A man has been formally charged with murder and eight counts of attempted murder following a house fire in the western part of that city.
One woman died in that fire. Eight others were injured, and authorities say the charges reflect the deliberate nature of the blaze.
That's in the Chelsea district?
West London covers several boroughs. Chelsea is south of the Thames.
They're calling it attempted murder rather than arson because of the injuries.
Eight counts, one for each person who survived. The suspect appeared in court this morning London time and was remanded in custody.
In other news from Britain, Kit Harington is returning to HBO. The Game of Thrones actor has been cast in the network's upcoming Harry Potter series.
He'll play Gilderoy Lockhart, the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor who appears in the second book.
That character was played by Kenneth Branagh in the film. This marks Harington's third collaboration with HBO after Game of Thrones and The Industry.
Good casting. He's got the hair for it.
The series begins production this fall for a twenty twenty-six premiere.
In British soccer news tonight, Chelsea defeated Fulham two to one at Craven Cottage. Cole Palmer scored and assisted on Joao Pedro's goal to give new manager Xabi Alonso his first win.
Morgan Rogers scored on his debut for Fulham.
He did. The loss was Alvaro Arbeloa's first match as Fulham manager after taking over from Marco Silva.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are in advanced talks to sell Gabriel Martinelli to Saudi club Al-Hilal for at least fifty million pounds.
The Brazilian winger has been with Arsenal since twenty nineteen. No deal has been finalized, but sources say negotiations are progressing quickly.
That's the league where Cristiano Ronaldo plays now.
The Saudi Pro League, yes. They've been signing established European players for the past two seasons.
And in a story we reported earlier this afternoon, the BBC is reporting that dangerous driving videos remain easily searchable on social media platforms.
At least one of the young people killed in a recent crash in the UK appears in videos posted on TikTok showing exactly that kind of behavior.
Investigators are reviewing material as part of the crash inquiry.
We're not linking to any of it.
We are not.
If you're watching us on YouTube tonight, subscribing does help. Costs you nothing, means a lot to a station this size.
And we read your comments. Most of them, anyway.
All of them.
At four in the morning.
The news never sleeps.
Still ahead tonight on KRAK 11, Criminal Intent. A case out of Florida that started with a phone call and ended with four felony charges.
And a machete.
Always a machete.
CRIMINAL INTENT
Good evening. I'm Chip Marlowe.
And I'm Deb Sarkissian. Welcome to the Blotter.
Tonight we have a skull, half a million in stolen protein powder, and the Air Guitar World Championships. It has been a week.
It has been several weeks. Some of these are from last year.
We begin with the kind of donation that stops a sorting line cold. Back in February of this year, someone dropped off a human skull at a Goodwill store in Washtenaw County, Michigan.
Police say the skull is human and investigators are now trying to locate whoever donated it.
Authorities say there is no indication of foul play at this time, but they would very much like to know how a human skull ended up in the donation bin.
They say there is no indication of foul play.
I stand corrected.
Cook County authorities seized one hundred thousand dollars in stolen Wawa coffee and half a million in protein powder back in December of last year. This is our one hundred and ninety-third Florida Man Tribute.
Officials say cargo theft is a growing trend in the region and they recovered the merchandise from multiple locations.
Six hundred thousand dollars in stolen goods. Coffee and protein powder. Someone was stocking a very specific kind of warehouse.
Back in August of last year, Finland hosted the twenty-eighth Air Guitar World Championships in the city of Oulu. Performers from thirteen countries competed for the title.
Twenty-eight years. That is a longer run than most bands with actual guitars.
The competition drew performers from as far as Japan, Australia, and the United States. A new champion was crowned.
And in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, back in June of last year, police responded to what they are calling an ongoing harassment situation involving a masked individual targeting a family.
Authorities say the individual has been wearing a mask and engaging in what they describe as disturbing behavior directed at one household.
Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the department. No charges have been filed at this time.
Still ahead tonight on KRAK 11 News, a fisherman finds a bird in the worst kind of trouble and what happens next has been watched more than seven million times in three days.
Animals is next.

And in Chicago, Pete Crow-Armstrong made history in the Cubs' walk-off win over the White Sox. Final score, five to four, with Crow-Armstrong delivering the deciding hit in the ninth inning.
