KRAK 11 NEWS
Good evening. This is KRAK 11 News at ten o'clock. I'm Chip Marlowe.
And I'm Deb Sarkissian. Coming up this hour on KRAK 11: The World Desk, where police in Sweden have confirmed the age of a girl killed in a sword attack, and two boys remain hospitalized tonight.
Criminal Intent brings you another Florida Man Tribute. This one happened back in April of last year. Amtrak train, New Jersey, what the attorney general called a small arsenal.
One hundred and eight tributes in forty-three weeks.
Animals has the sea urchin video, which has now led our countdown for three consecutive days. I have watched it nineteen times. And in A Quick Look at Sports, a forensic psychiatrist testified about postpartum psychosis in the Lindsay Clancy case.
You did not need to announce how many times.
Still ahead tonight: The World Desk, where an eighteen-year-old suspect has been detained in Sweden, and police are releasing new details about the victims of Wednesday's attack.
THE WORLD DESK
Good evening. I am Chip Marlowe.
And I am Deb Sarkissian. The robot video has now been watched forty-four million times.
I have watched it five times since this morning.
That is dedication.
We begin tonight with developing news from Sweden, where police have identified the victim of a sword attack in a residential neighborhood as a seventeen-year-old girl.
Two boys, aged twelve and seventeen, were also injured in the attack. An eighteen-year-old suspect has been detained and is in custody.
Swedish authorities have not released the names of any of those involved. The investigation is continuing.
Also tonight, a story that has generated more than ten million views in the last twenty-four hours. Videos of people cleaning extremely cluttered homes continue to dominate social media.
Some of these videos show homes with years of accumulated belongings being cleared room by room, often taking several days to complete. The most popular cleaning channel has forty million subscribers.
That is more than the population of California.
Forty million people watching someone else clean a house.
My house could be a very successful channel.
Your house is very clean.
I arrive at four in the morning. There is time.
And in Australia, new details tonight in the case that could overturn a murder conviction because of a hotel booking error.
Erin Patterson was convicted of killing three people with poisoned mushrooms. Her lawyers now say a witness who placed her at the scene may have been at the wrong hotel entirely.
The witness was attending a table tennis tournament and had booked two hotels with similar names on the same weekend.
That sounds like something I would do.
You have done that.
Different conference.
Same city.
The witness also testified that Patterson had offered him a throat lozenge during the encounter, which prosecutors used to establish timeline.
The defense now says hotel security footage shows the witness was at a different property three miles away when that conversation would have taken place.
A hearing on the motion to overturn is scheduled for next month in Melbourne.
And from the Middle East tonight, Syria is calling the latest Israeli airstrike near Damascus a violation of international law.
The strike targeted what Israeli officials describe as military infrastructure. Syrian state media reports damage to civilian areas as well.
This is the second reported strike in a week. The first hit a military airbase near the border with Lebanon.
Near the Turkish border.
Lebanon shares a border with Turkey.
It does not.
Then where is Turkey?
North of Syria.
I thought that was Greece.
Greece is west of Turkey.

Still ahead tonight on KRAK 11 News, Criminal Intent. A case from Florida involving a man, a lawn mower, and a police chase that ended in a Walmart parking lot.
The lawn mower was stolen.
Of course it was.
Criminal Intent in just a few minutes.
CRIMINAL INTENT
Good evening. This is Criminal Intent.
We have four Florida Man Tributes tonight. All of them from last year. None of them recent. All of them completely true.
This is one hundred and nine through one hundred twelve.
It is a banner night for the Sunshine State.
We begin back in April of last year. The suspect boards an Amtrak train. The route is New Jersey bound. He is carrying what federal prosecutors later described as a small arsenal.
Prosecutors alleged he was carrying multiple firearms, ammunition, and what the indictment described as tactical equipment.
He was indicted in Trenton. The suspect is a Florida resident. The train was northbound at the time of arrest.
December of last year. Winter Haven. A half-naked man breaks into a residence. Witnesses say he was visibly intoxicated. He is spotted holding a carpet cleaner.
Police said he told officers he was high on methamphetamine at the time and did not remember the incident.
He was arrested at the scene. The carpet cleaner was recovered.
July of last year. The Missouri River. An angler reels in an eighty-six point eight pound blue catfish. State officials described the catch as impressive.
The Missouri River is known for trophy-sized catfish. This one was nearly eighty-seven pounds.
That is not a crime, Deb.
It is not.
It is a very large fish.
August of last year. The Florida Everglades. Video captures an alligator devouring a Burmese python. Wildlife officials say the python population is invasive and the alligator was doing its part.
The alligator was seen swimming away with the python still in its jaws.
Also not a crime.
No.
That is one hundred and twelve Florida Man Tributes in forty-three weeks. Still ahead tonight on KRAK 11 News, the sea urchin video is holding its lead for a fourth straight day.
Animals is next.
ANIMALS
Time now for Animals.
The countdown. Three videos, ranked by how many views they gained in the last three days.
The sea urchin video is still number one.
Four days running.
Number three tonight is a video posted by Benji Void on August sixteenth. Two million four hundred and fifty-six thousand views gained. YouTube has filed it under Pets and Animals.
Number two is a video called When Kindness Goes Both Ways. Posted by Windypaws on August twentieth. Four million six hundred and twelve thousand views gained.
And number one for the fourth straight day is the sea urchin video. Posted by Nick DiGiovanni on August nineteenth. Five million five hundred and eighty-one thousand views gained in three days.
You have now watched it nineteen times.
I have.
Since Monday.
It is very good preparation.
All three videos are on the KRAK 11 News Reel. The link is in the description.
Still ahead tonight, a quick look at sports. The Brewers are still winning.
Forty-two straight.
That is next on KRAK 11 News.
A QUICK LOOK AT SPORTS
A quick look at sports.
Thirty-two straight games now.
Every single night he does it.
Pete Crow-Armstrong makes it thirty-two consecutive games with a walk-off RBI as the Cubs beat the White Sox six to five in the bottom of the ninth. He is rewriting the record book.
The Brewers have now won forty-three consecutive games. They beat the Cardinals nine to two in Milwaukee.
Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua meet at Wembley Stadium on June fourteenth. That is the heavyweight fight people have been waiting years to see.
And Magnus Carlsen defended his chess title at the Esports World Cup for the fifth straight year, beating Fabiano Caruana three games to one.
Still ahead on KRAK 11 News — breaking news at the top of the hour, and we will have it for you live.
That is the scoreboard. Good night, Wexler County.
