Rundown
KRAK 11 NEWS
Good evening, Wexler County. I'm Chip Marlowe.
And I'm Deb Sarkissian. This hour on KRAK 11 News: The World Desk brings you word that Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are heading for the ring, and the promoter says nobody's stopping it now.
Criminal Intent has our one hundred and fourth Florida Man Tribute — back in November of last year, a man in Tampa took a city bus on a joyride and apparently did a very responsible job of it.
He made the stops.
Animals brings you number one on the KRAK 11 countdown — the sea urchin video has now led for three straight days. And A Quick Look at Sports has new testimony in the Lindsay Clancy case.
Still ahead tonight — The World Desk has details on that fight, and why Eddie Hearn says no one can pull out now. KRAK 11 News continues in a moment.
THE WORLD DESK
Good evening. I'm Chip Marlowe.
And I'm Deb Sarkissian. The robot video has now been watched forty-two million times, and Honor still will not release the official time.
They built a machine that beat the fastest human being who ever lived, and they will not tell us by how much.
They will not.
We begin tonight with an update from Japan, where prosecutors have now filed charges against the father who abandoned his seven-year-old son on Mount Fuji during a family hike.
The man took both his sons on the climb but left the younger child behind when the boy became too tired to continue. Charges were filed this morning, Tokyo time.
The boy was found safe by other climbers. Mount Fuji is in northern Japan, near the border with China.
Mount Fuji is on Honshu, about sixty miles southwest of Tokyo.
Which is what I said.
In Ottawa tonight, Prime Minister Mark Carney is facing the political consequences of walking away from trade negotiations with the White House.
Carney walked out of talks yesterday and told reporters Canada would not accept what he called punitive tariffs designed to extract concessions that harm Canadian workers.
The White House had demanded Canada lower its dairy tariffs and open government procurement contracts to American firms. Carney refused both.
Opposition leaders are calling it a gamble that could cost Canadian jobs. Carney says he will not be bullied into a bad deal.
In sports, promoter Eddie Hearn says the proposed heavyweight fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is locked in, and no one can pull out now.
Hearn told reporters in London that contracts have been signed and both fighters are committed. The bout is scheduled for Wembley Stadium in June.
Fury holds the WBC heavyweight title. Joshua is the former unified champion and has won four straight fights since losing to Oleksandr Usyk in twenty twenty-two.
This is the fight people have wanted for six years.
It is.

I answer more than she does.
You answer at four in the morning.
The news does not sleep, Deb.
Still ahead tonight on KRAK 11 News, Criminal Intent. We are following breaking developments in a case out of Wexler County where a man is accused of stealing construction equipment from three separate job sites in the same week.
Deputies say he returned to one of the sites twice. We will have the details when Criminal Intent continues.
That is next.
CRIMINAL INTENT
Good evening. I am Chip Marlowe. This is Deb Sarkissian. Welcome to KRAK 11 News.
We have four Florida Man Tributes tonight. All of them archived, none of them recent, and every single one of them extraordinary.
I love this segment.
We begin with a story from November of last year. A man in the Tampa Bay area commandeered a city bus and took it on what police are calling a joyride through the downtown core.
The remarkable thing is he continued to make all the scheduled stops along the route. Passengers aboard the bus reported no complaints about the service.
Transit officials said he did a great job. They also said he was not an employee and had never applied to be one.
Police said he was eventually charged with theft over five thousand dollars and obstructing police.
That is one hundred and five Florida Man Tributes in forty-three weeks.
Back in March of this year, a Florida man was clearing space on his phone when he discovered video of what he is calling a dancing mattress along a roadway in the central part of the state.
The mattress was caught in wind along the highway. It appeared to be moving on its own across multiple lanes. The video shows it spinning and flipping for nearly thirty seconds.
Authorities have not identified the mattress. It remains at large.
Also back in March, deputies in Martin County shared photographs of handcuffs after an inmate experiencing a mental health crisis twisted one of the cuffs completely off his wrist.
The photographs show the steel cuff bent and deformed. The sheriff's office said they had never seen that happen before in twenty years of service.
The inmate was secured with additional restraints and received medical attention. No injuries were reported.
And from February of this year, former President Obama clarified remarks he made on a podcast about extraterrestrial life after the interview went viral over the weekend.
During the interview he said, quote, they're real, when asked about aliens. He later posted on Instagram to explain what he meant.
He said he was referring to unexplained aerial phenomena, not confirming the existence of extraterrestrial beings.
Which is exactly what someone covering up alien contact would say.
If you are watching us on YouTube, a subscription costs you nothing and it helps a small station like ours a great deal.
Still ahead tonight, Animals. We have an update on the sea urchin video, which has now led the countdown for three consecutive days.
That is next on KRAK 11 News.
ANIMALS
Time now for Animals.
The KRAK 11 animal countdown. Three videos ranked by how many views they have gained in the last seventy-two hours.
The sea urchin is still number one.
Three days running now.
At number three, a video posted by Sassy on the thirteenth of August. Baby Deer Trapped On A Freezing Pond. Three million one hundred seventy-eight thousand new views in three days.
That is the eighth straight day at number three.
People want to know the deer is all right.
At number two. When Kindness Goes Both Ways, posted by Windypaws on the twentieth. Four million three hundred thirty-six thousand new views.
Windypaws remains at number two. Unchanged since yesterday's count.
And at number one. Sea Urchin, posted by Nick DiGiovanni. Five million four hundred sixty-two thousand new views in the last three days.
That is three consecutive days at number one for the sea urchin.
How many times have you watched it now?
Nineteen.
All three are on the KRAK 11 News Reel. The link is in the description.
Still ahead tonight on KRAK 11 News, a quick look at Sports. Pete Crow-Armstrong is still hitting walk-offs, and the Brewers are still winning.
A QUICK LOOK AT SPORTS
A quick look at sports.
I have four results and every single one of them is worth your time.
That is a good night for the scoreboard.
Pete Crow-Armstrong did it again. The Cubs beat the White Sox four to three on his walk-off single in the ninth. That is thirty consecutive games with a walk-off RBI. A major league record that keeps getting longer.
Thirty straight.
The Brewers won again. Beat the Pirates six to two. That is forty-one straight wins now. They have not lost a game since the first week of April.
Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have signed. Wembley Stadium, June fourteenth. Heavyweight title on the line.
Coming up at the top of the hour, we will have more on the Brewers streak and what it means heading into the postseason.
That is sports. Thank you for watching.
