KRAK 11 NEWS
Good evening, Wexler County. This is KRAK 11 News. I am Chip Marlowe.
I am Deb Sarkissian. Coming up this hour: The World Desk, where two people are injured in a stabbing attack at a temple in Canada and police have one suspect in custody.
Criminal Intent, where a donkey jumped into a moving van and injured three people. Police describe the animal as very aggressive.
Animals, where the sea urchin video has now led our countdown for twenty-five consecutive hours.
I have watched it seven times.
And A Quick Look at Sports, where Arsenal faced Coventry in the Premier League and one player is getting most of the attention tonight.
The World Desk is next on KRAK 11 News.
THE WORLD DESK
Good evening. I'm Chip Marlowe.
And I'm Deb Sarkissian. We have six stories from four continents tonight, and we begin with new satellite analysis from the Middle East.
Settlements, fuel shortages, a royal return to acting, and an update on that Scottish ferry.
We begin with new reporting from the West Bank, where satellite analysis shows a significant expansion of Israeli settlements on Palestinian land.
The BBC has documented increased building and road construction in recent years, part of what analysts describe as a deliberate effort to reshape the occupied territory.
This is near Ramallah, correct?
Throughout the West Bank. The expansion covers multiple areas across the occupied territory. The satellite imagery shows road networks being built to connect these settlements to Israel proper.
Which is the region just south of Jerusalem.
The West Bank surrounds Jerusalem on three sides, Chip. It extends north, east, and south of the city.
Thank you, Deb. In Russia tonight, drivers are waiting hours in fuel lines as the country prepares to celebrate Russian Flag Day tomorrow.
The BBC is reporting that petrol shortages are growing more common as the war in Ukraine continues into its third year, but Moscow is moving forward with patriotic celebrations regardless.
The shortages appear to be most severe outside the capital. Moscow itself has maintained better access to fuel than outlying regions.
Because Moscow is very centralized. Everything flows through the Kremlin district.
Moscow is the largest city in Europe, Chip. It covers nearly a thousand square miles. The shortages are being felt in the smaller cities and towns across western Russia.
Well, the flag celebration goes ahead tomorrow regardless.
It does.
In entertainment news tonight, the BBC is reporting new developments regarding Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex. She is in talks for a role in the second season of the Netflix series The Gentlemen.
If finalized, this would be her first significant acting work since she married Prince Harry in twenty-eighteen.
The Gentlemen is the Guy Ritchie series.
It is. Based on his film of the same name. The first season aired last year.
She was on Suits for seven years before the royal wedding.
She was. This would mark her return to acting after a seven-year absence. Netflix has not confirmed the casting, but sources close to the production say discussions are ongoing.
And an update from Scotland, where police have arrested a twenty-three-year-old man in connection with yesterday's ferry evacuation.
As we reported yesterday, a CalMac ferry sailing from the Isle of Arran to Ardrossan was evacuated after a bomb threat. One passenger went overboard and was rescued from the water.
Police Scotland confirmed this afternoon that the man arrested was the same passenger rescued from the sea, and that the bomb threats were determined to be not credible.
So the ferry was evacuated based on a threat made by someone who had just fallen overboard.
That appears to be the sequence, yes.
Well, everyone is safe.
They are.

We appreciate you being here.
Still ahead tonight on KRAK 11 News, Criminal Intent. A man accused of murder told police sixteen years ago exactly who fired the fatal shots. That recording was played in court this week.
We'll have that when we come back.
CRIMINAL INTENT
Good evening. I'm Chip Marlowe.
And I'm Deb Sarkissian. The blotter tonight has a donkey, a demon, and a seventeen-foot pigeon.
That is a sentence I have never said before.
And yet here we are.
A donkey described by authorities as very aggressive jumped into a van in Florida, kicking and biting two motorists and a woman who tried to help. All three were injured. The donkey was on the loose at the time of the incident.
Police say the animal jumped through the open door. It is not clear why the donkey was loose or how it was eventually contained.
In Missouri, a college student was allegedly killed by her boyfriend, who told investigators a demon took over and instructed him to stab her. Prosecutors have charged Royce Moser with murder. His mother has also been charged in connection with an alleged cover-up.
Prosecutors allege Moser killed the victim, who was a college soccer player. Both he and his mother are in custody tonight.
Back in March of this year, New York City said goodbye to a seventeen-foot-tall aluminum pigeon. The statue, which stood on the High Line and was known as Dinosaur, was removed to make way for a new art installation.
The statue was described as beloved by locals. A farewell party was held at the High Line before it was taken down.
And back in January of this year, Planters announced it was looking for drivers for the NUTmobile. The company was hiring what it calls Peanutters to take the iconic vehicle to festivals, parades, and college campuses across the country.
The NUTmobile is a vehicle shaped like a giant peanut. Planters said it was looking for enthusiastic drivers willing to spend a year on the road.
KRAK 11 has now aired sixty-four Florida Man Tributes in forty-three weeks.
That is a lot of tributes.
It is a service to the audience.
We are proud of the work.
Still ahead tonight on KRAK 11 News, the sea urchin video has held the top spot for twenty-six consecutive hours. There is something trying to catch it.
Animals is next.
ANIMALS
Coming up: the Good News Desk.
This is the KRAK 11 animal countdown. Three videos, ranked by how many views they gained in the last two days.
The sea urchin is still at number one.
Twenty-six hours now.

That video has held third place for four days now.
It is earning it.

And number one tonight, for the twenty-sixth consecutive hour: Sea Urchin. Posted by Nick DiGiovanni on August nineteenth. Four million one hundred eighteen thousand new views in two days.
You have now watched that video seven times.
I stand by every viewing.
All three are on the KRAK 11 News Reel, and the link is in the description.
Still ahead tonight: A Quick Look at Sports. The Brewers have won sixteen straight, the Cubs have a young man making history, and Ohio State opens Saturday.
That is next on KRAK 11 News.
A QUICK LOOK AT SPORTS
Good evening. A quick look at sports.
Three walk-off runs in three games. We are going to talk about that.
We are.
Coventry City beat Arsenal in Premier League play this afternoon. Christos Tzolis scored twice on his debut. Arsenal two, Coventry four.
The Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong hit his third walk-off RBI in three games last night. Cubs five, White Sox four in the tenth. That has not been done since nineteen seventy-four.
Three consecutive walk-off RBIs.
You said we would talk about it.
The Brewers beat the Rockies seven to two. That makes seventeen straight wins. They are now alone in franchise history.
That is your sports. Coming up at the top of the hour on KRAK 11 News, we will have the latest from the Wexler County Sheriff's briefing on that ferry incident. We are back in three minutes.
