And I'm Deb Sarkissian. This hour: four workers killed after being hit by a train north of Tokyo. We have the details from authorities.
Then, the sixteenth Florida Man Tribute of the year — and this one involves Batman pajamas, a burglar, and a very patient neighbor.
The bobcat that stopped every car is still number five on the KRAK 11 animal countdown, with more than three-quarters of a million new views.
And in sports, forty-five thousand pounds of business-class airfare gets you to the World Cup. John Swinney is defending it.
That is how much he spent?
That is how much he spent. All of that still ahead on KRAK 11 News.
THE WORLD DESK
The World Desk.
Good evening. Four stories from overseas tonight, and we begin with a sentencing in Wales.
Wales is coastal.
Wales is coastal. It is also three hundred miles from Kent.
A Welsh conman who told victims he had terminal cancer and served in the special forces has been sentenced to four years in prison after defrauding multiple people out of sixty-eight thousand pounds.
Prosecutors said the man claimed he needed money for medical treatment and for a business he said he was running after his military service. He showed fake medical documents and pretended to attend chemotherapy appointments.
The court in Cardiff heard he maintained the deception for months across south Wales before being charged with multiple counts of fraud.
That is near the White Cliffs.
The White Cliffs are in Kent, on the opposite side of the country.
In Syria, Lebanon has extradited a former general to face war crimes charges in Damascus. It is the first such extradition since the fall of the Assad government.
Former General Adel Issa was handed over to authorities this morning. He had been living in Lebanon since fleeing Damascus during the final weeks of the regime's collapse.
The Syrian transitional government says it is stepping up efforts to locate and prosecute members of the former regime wanted on charges related to detentions, disappearances, and abuses carried out during the civil war.
That is a significant shift in how these cases are being handled.
It is. This is the first time Lebanon has cooperated with Syria on extraditions involving the former government.
And we have an update on that story from Belgium that we brought you in the last hour. More details have now emerged about the private ceremony recognizing a used car salesman as the son of Prince Laurent.
Clément Vandenkerckhove, who is thirty-two and works in a town outside Brussels, was formally brought into the family at a town hall ceremony attended by the prince and his wife. There were no palace photographers and no official announcement from the royal household.
That is the Flemish royal family.
Belgium has one royal family. Flanders is a region.
I thought Flanders was the capital.
Brussels is the capital. Flanders is the northern part of the country where they speak Dutch.
I knew it was Dutch.
The recognition came after DNA testing confirmed paternity. Prince Laurent has not made any public statement, and the palace has referred all questions to the family's private legal team.
That is unusual for a royal family.
It is. Belgian media are reporting that the family wanted the matter handled privately, with no ceremony at the palace and no involvement from the royal communications office.
So he went from selling used cars on a Tuesday to being a prince by Thursday.
That appears to be the timeline, yes.
I imagine the warranty conversations got more formal.

Still ahead tonight on KRAK 11 News, Criminal Intent. A case out of the county that began with a noise complaint and ended with charges that surprised everyone, including the responding deputy.
We will have that story in just a few minutes.
Stay with us.
CRIMINAL INTENT
Time now for the KRAK 11 Blotter.
Week seventeen of the KRAK 11 Florida Man Tribute.
And it is a memorable week.
Back in August of last year, a man in Southwest Florida heard a commotion outside his home at two in the morning. He went outside wearing Batman pajamas, confronted the suspect, and held him down on the ground until deputies arrived.
Police said the suspect was attempting to break into a vehicle when the homeowner intervened.
The suspect was taken into custody. No word on whether the pajamas had a cape.
Also back in August of last year, deputies in Fort Myers Beach arrested a man named Zachary Jolly after he allegedly broke into a mobile marijuana van and stole more than seven thousand dollars worth of edibles, mushrooms and vapes.
The van belonged to a business called Queen of Weed.
Security cameras captured the entire incident. Mr. Jolly was not feeling particularly jolly when deputies took him into custody Sunday morning.
Prosecutors allege he took the items from the vehicle.
Also from last summer, in July, a man in the Florida Panhandle is facing serious charges after deputies said they found a dead cat in a trash can on his property.
Walton County deputies said he had set traps on his property to kill cats. He was charged with animal cruelty.
And back in January of this year, a house in Pinellas Park that had been known to neighbors for decades as Florida Man's home may become an Airbnb under new ownership.
The house belonged to Jena Spencer's family and was a neighborhood gathering place for years.
The new owners are considering listing it as a short-term rental. No word yet on whether guests will be required to wear Batman pajamas.
That is week seventeen.
Gordo, is the whiteboard ready?
Green marker's on your desk.
Coming up in just a few minutes on KRAK 11 News, a video that Steve Irwin himself would have found remarkable. We have footage you will not believe.
Animals, after the break.
ANIMALS
Time now for Animals.
We track what you are watching, and this week the numbers tell a story.
They do.
A bobcat in Arizona that will not let anyone pass.
The video is called This Bobcat Was Stopping Every Car. It has gained seven hundred and fifty-seven thousand new views in the last twenty hours.
That brings the total to just under six million. It is number five on the KRAK eleven animal countdown, which ranks by growth, not total views.
YouTube has it at fourteen on their trending chart. We have it at five because of how fast people are finding it.
The channel is GL Al Amin. The video was posted in August.
It is a very patient bobcat.
Just sits there. In the middle of the road. Looking at every car like it owes him something.
And nobody drives around him.
No. They all stop. And he just— he looks at them.
That is a good animal.
It is.
Still ahead, A Quick Look at Sports, and we will tell you why the Ohio State locker room is very quiet this morning. That is next on KRAK eleven News.
A QUICK LOOK AT SPORTS
Time now for a quick look at sports.
College football, baseball, and a Grand Slam final.
One of those games went eleven innings.
Ohio State beat Michigan thirty-one to twenty-four. The Buckeyes are now four and oh on the season.
The Cubs beat the White Sox two to one on a Pete Crow-Armstrong walk-off single in the ninth. First Crosstown Classic sweep in eleven years.
Aryna Sabalenka won the US Open. Beat Jessica Pegula seven-five, seven-five for her third Grand Slam title.
That is sports. Coming up at the top of the hour on KRAK 11 News — a story from Zambia we are watching closely.
We will see you then.
