I need forty seconds.
We have twenty.
Then I need twenty seconds and a bucket.
What did you eat.
Does it matter? I'm going to shit myself.
Live in three. Two. One.
I shit myself.
Good evening, and welcome to the Chip Shit Show.
Horrible.
THE WORLD DESK
Welcome back to KRAK 11 News. This is the World Desk.
Good evening.
Deb, before we begin, I've been reviewing the pronunciation guide for tonight's international coverage, and I believe we should establish a consistent approach to place names that reflect both accuracy and accessibility for our Wexler County audience.
We're pronouncing them correctly.
That's what I'm proposing.
In Virginia, police say the suspect in yesterday's campus shooting was found hiding in a dormitory closet approximately forty minutes after the attack outside a residence hall.
Five people were injured in the shooting. The suspect was not enrolled at the university and authorities have not yet established how he gained access to campus grounds.
All five victims remain hospitalized. Two are in critical condition. Authorities have not released a motive.
We'll continue to monitor developments from Richmond as more information becomes available.
Also breaking this hour, Ferrari's first electric vehicle sold at auction in Milan for forty million dollars, a record price for any production car sold at public sale.
The Luce represents Ferrari's entry into the electric market. Some commentators have criticized the design as a departure from the brand's signature dramatic styling.
The previous record was thirty-eight million dollars for a nineteen sixty-two Ferrari two-fifty GTO sold privately in twenty eighteen.
Milan is positioning itself as the center of luxury automotive auctions in the European Union, capitalizing on Italy's manufacturing heritage and its strategic location in the northern trade corridor.
Milan is where the car was built.
Exactly. Heritage.
The buyer's identity has not been disclosed. Proceeds will benefit Ferrari's electric infrastructure development across southern Europe.
Forty million dollars for a car that plugs into a wall. Deb, when you and I started in this business, a Ferrari had twelve cylinders and made a sound you could hear from the next county.
You've never owned a Ferrari.
I've admired them from a position of fiscal responsibility.
In France, workers at three major ports walked off the job this morning in a dispute over pension reforms that the government says are necessary to address a seventy-billion-euro budget shortfall.
This is the fourth major labor action in France this year. The ports involved handle approximately sixty percent of the country's container traffic through the Mediterranean shipping corridor.
The ports are Marseille, Le Havre, and Dunkirk. They're on the Atlantic and the English Channel.
Which feed into the greater Mediterranean network.
Dunkirk is on the border with Belgium.
A critical junction for north-south shipping lanes.
For the English Channel.
Union leaders say the strike could extend into next week if the government does not return to negotiations. France's transport minister called the walkout, quote, economically reckless.
Economists estimate the shutdown is costing approximately two hundred million euros per day in delayed cargo and rerouted shipments.
Two hundred million a day. You could buy five Ferraris.
You could move the cargo.
Still ahead on KRAK 11, a Wexler County man faces charges after what investigators are calling a pattern spanning three states. That story and the rest of tonight's criminal activity when we return.
You're watching KRAK 11 News.
I've been running to work.
Since when.
July.
Why have you been running.
My wife left me for a runner, so I'm running after her.
You're fat. Maybe just pick up a new wife. One you can catch.
I will get her back.
That's sweet. I'm sorry to hear about your wife. How long ago did she leave?
About nine years ago.
CRIMINAL INTENT
Good evening. I'm Chip Marlowe.
And I'm Deb Sarkissian.
Gordo, the desk lamp is three degrees off-center and it is reading as chaos on the master feed.
We don't have a desk lamp.
The small brass fixture to my left that has been there since February—
That's a fire alarm indicator.
A Wexler County man is facing multiple charges tonight after police say he tried to steal a patrol car while handcuffed in the back seat.
The suspect, twenty-nine-year-old Travis Kellerman, was arrested Sunday on an outstanding warrant. While officers were processing a second individual at the scene, Kellerman allegedly climbed through the partition, sat in the driver's seat, and attempted to operate the vehicle.
He was still handcuffed. Behind his back. Deputies say he made it approximately four feet before the vehicle struck a fence.
He has been charged with attempted theft of a motor vehicle, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest.
In national news, a Florida man is under investigation after customs agents at Miami International Airport discovered sixty-four live finches concealed inside hair rollers in his checked luggage.
Federal agents say the suspect told them he believed the birds would quote enjoy the ride unquote if they were quote snug and secure in a familiar grooming product.
Eighteen of the birds did not survive the flight.
Wildlife trafficking carries a federal penalty of up to twenty years. The remaining finches have been transferred to a licensed rehabilitation facility.

Prosecutors say Amanda Ritchie cared for as many as twelve children at a time in a facility that had failed two prior safety inspections. Parents were not informed.
In Oregon, a man accused of stealing fifteen gallons of maple syrup from a commercial kitchen was apprehended after leaving a trail of syrup from the loading dock to his vehicle three blocks away.
Police say the container was not properly sealed.
It was a bucket. Court documents describe it as a five-gallon industrial food-service bucket with a handle and no lid. Witnesses reported a quote sticky individual unquote walking quote very deliberately unquote toward the parking structure.
He has pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutors allege he left approximately two hundred feet of visible syrup residue on public sidewalks before entering the vehicle.
Still ahead tonight, a segment our viewers have asked us to keep.
Happy Animals is next. Footage that speaks for itself.
That's next.
What is that smell.
It's called Executive.
It's called what.
Executive. It's what they wear in boardrooms.
It smells like a hookers hotel.
Exactly.
Chip, you smell like a divorced dad at a Marriott.
Or a Married Dad on a business trip to Vegas.
HAPPY ANIMALS
We have some good news.
You've been timing the title card again.
Two point zero seconds. Exactly what the memo requested. A team that looks organized plays organized.
A golden retriever lost in Vermont for six days was found in a culvert and recognized his family's car from Connecticut.
The family had been searching since Tuesday. The dog was cold, underweight, but otherwise unharmed.
That's — that's a good dog.
In Oregon, forty-three barn owls were released after rehabilitation that began in March.
The birds were injured, rehabilitated over nine months, and released in coordinated groups to allow them to reestablish territory.
And in Florida, a sixty-year-old sea turtle received a prosthetic fin after a boat propeller injury.
The turtle will be released next month. Sixty years old, Deb.
She's older than both of us.
A therapy horse in Kentucky has visited nursing homes twice a week for nine years. Her name is Clementine, she is trained to use elevators, and she has never missed a Tuesday.
Nine years is three thousand two hundred and eighty-five days.
That is the most reliable thing I have ever heard in my life.
Still ahead: we'll have sports, including a coaching change that affects two divisions and has both fanbases calling the front office. That's next.
Should I open With a joke? Or inspirational Story?
For what?
The big Speech I am giving at the Rotary Club.
People like good jokes.
Okay. So. Inspirational Story it is.
Chip...
I will tell the story of when I risked my life to save a fellow citizen in need, How I never even knew who this person was before I helped, but if it were not for me, Linda would not be living the live she is today, because of my actions she is alive.
Stop.
what do you mean?
I know Linda, You gave her twenty dollars to cover her lunch, that is hardly saving her life..
SPORTS
Sports.
Before we go to scores, I would like it noted that the title card held for exactly two point zero seconds.
Noted.
That matches my April memo. Two seconds for sports, two point five for world news, one point eight for breaking. Gordo is holding to spec.
Scottie Scheffler won the St Jude Championship in Memphis today, finishing twenty-five strokes ahead of second place. Scheffler shot a final-round sixty-four to finish at twenty-one under par.
Twenty-five strokes is the largest margin of victory in a PGA Tour event since the Colonial in two thousand and eight.
Rory McIlroy finished sixty-sixth. He told reporters afterward he felt lost.
McIlroy is one of the most talented golfers on the tour. When someone at that level says they feel lost, they are between adjustments.
He shot four over par and finished twenty-five strokes behind the winner.
Which is a temporary condition.
The Patriot Games concluded today in Washington. Two athletes from each state competed as part of the celebration of America's two hundred fiftieth anniversary.
Fairmont West sophomore Jacob Merriman placed ninth in the fifteen hundred meters yesterday with a time of four minutes, six seconds. Today he ran the five thousand and finished fourteenth.
His time in the five thousand was fifteen minutes, forty-one seconds.
Ninth and fourteenth. On a national stage. At fifteen years old. A Fairmont student represented Wexler County in two distance events and placed in both.
He placed in the bottom third of both fields.
He showed up. Twice.
Baseball. Tommy John, the left-handed pitcher who was the namesake for a pioneering elbow surgery, has died at the age of eighty-three.
John was a left-handed pitcher for the Dodgers when he tore the ligament in his elbow in nineteen seventy-four. He was thirty-one. The injury ended careers. Dr. Frank Jobe performed the experimental surgery and John came back and pitched fourteen more seasons.
He won two hundred eighty-eight games in his career. A hundred sixty-four of those came after the surgery.
The second act was longer than the first.
It was.
And we are out of time.
We're not.
We have what, fifteen seconds?
We have two minutes and thirty seconds.
Well. Then we have time to do this right.
The next KRAK Eleven News begins at the top of the hour. We'll have an update on the flooding in Indiana, where multiple deaths have now been confirmed after more than eleven inches of rain fell in three days.

That's the next KRAK Eleven News, at the top of the hour.
Thank you for watching.
Good night, Wexler County.
Did the second act line land.
It landed.
As in it read sincere, or as in you're saying words.
As in I said it landed, Chip.
I'm asking for clarification.
You're fishing.
You need to go home.
I'm fine.
You are coughing all over the place.
I am fine, Just read the news and mind your own business.
Calm down... I was only trying to help.
I'm Sorry
No Problem.
Sixty seconds.
Gordo, get me a mask.
